Thank you for selecting Current Performance Wiring to provide your LS swap wiring needs.
In some applications, the speedometer is controlled by a module under the passenger side dash area near the glove box. This is a small plastic module referred to in ways such as a "VSS Buffer" or "DRAC" module. The wiring harness we supply would make use of this module and supply the VSS signal through the body wiring to make it all work like factory. The green/white wire marked "speedo" is there to be able to bypass this module If needed.
If, for any reason, the speedometer is inoperative after the swap is done, or if the gear and tire have been changed so that the speedometer is inaccurate, the green/white wire we've supplied in the vicinity of the speedometer module is the output from the new ECM and can be used to bypass that module. There are several variations and the plastic module can be black, yellow, or white.
If you find that the speedometer in your application is inoperative or inaccurate and you need to bypass this module, please email us at tech@currentperformance.com with the year/make/model of your vehicle and which color module you have so that we can guide you which wire is the speedo output from the module to splice in to. The module would then no longer be needed and can be removed.
