CRANKING SIGNAL
1. YELLOW/BLACK WIRE
This wire is the trigger wire for the starter relay in the fuse box of your CPW Harness.
A. Connect to a 12V power source that is hot with the key in the start position.
B. When the cranking signal wire is connected properly, the starter relay inside the fuse box should engage when 12V is supplied to this wire. In turn, the starter relay should supply voltage out to the starter solenoid wire (typically purple) supplied within the harness.
C. On vehicles with automatic transmissions that have a neutral/safety switch, this switch needs to be connected and in proper working order with the transmission in park for the starter to function.
D. On vehicles with manual transmissions or automatic transmissions without a neutral/safety switch, this wire should be routed through a clutch safety switch, or shifter mounted switch to prevent the starter from operating in gear.
